About
Future draws inspiration from Jean-Claude Risset’s Computer Suite from Little Boy, extending its spirit of sonic exploration into a contemporary hybrid environment. For this piece, three custom Python programs were developed to function as independent electronic instruments:
a Shepard-Glissando Generator, an Audio Looper, and a Ring Resonator.
Each tool contributes a distinct sonic behavior, forming an ensemble that interacts with the live bassoon in real time.
Rather than treating the electronics as accompaniment, Future constructs a musical space in which the bassoon and these algorithmic instruments shape one another’s trajectories.
